This year's challenge got off to an early start with the delivery of the new control system in late November. The programming mentors wanted the 2009 FRC cRIO system up and running quickly so they could use it to teach the students C++ and LabView. The electrical team dove right in, redesigned and fabricated the Programmer's Suitcase with the 2010 controls. All the while, we were scoping out new ideas for innovate ways to package the electronics in our 2010 robot. Our efforts yielded a sleek monolith-like electronics enclosure complete with cool blue accent lighting. Modular design for serviceability was a critical requirement. The entire enclosure can be removed or installed with NASCAR-like speed via two quick release hood latch type pins, and groups of Anderson Power Pole and CAT5 chassis harnesses. The "Electroquarium" is now in its fourth generation with an efficient, organized and clean look that is sure to attract attention.
